Take The Oy Vey Out of Planning Your Big Day

by Rebecca Honig Friedman

As wedding season is upon us, there’s a new web resource on the Jewish wedding block. Check out JewishWeddingNetwork.com, a new venture from PopJudaica.com’s Sara Schwimmer.

(love the tag line)

She’s got an assortment of Jewish brides-to-be blogging about their wedding prep experiences (including the multimedially talented Maya Escobar — though most of the bloggers want to remain anonymous, Schwimmer says, Escobar, who is all over the Jewish blogosphere, is OK with being ‘outed’), along with product offers, tips and links to other resources for the affianced.

Recent posts include Polina E.’s rumination on whether expensive and wasteful printed invitations are still necessary “in the age of Evite and Facebook,”(which includes a convenient introduction to the DIY wedding website creation site WeddingWindow.com); DJ’s search for a Louisiana-based wedding band that can play a decent Hava Nagila; and Maya E.’s unorthodox wedding-party dress code decisions (Converse for the groomsmen, awesome).

So far, JewishWeddingNetwork’s posts are short, to the point, and full of eye-candy, earning the site the official Jewess gold Star of David approval ;-)

  1. Thanks for the love Rebecca! And if anyone was going to out me, I am glad it was you :)

  2. Best part of the tagline is that its totally something Sara would actually say. ;) Wish I could have blogged for the site. But then again, tweeting my wedding was work enough! @susqhb

  3. You tweeted your wedding? I will have to check that out!
