“Hungry To Be Heard”: Eating Disorders in the Orthodox Community

About a year ago a woman named Elisheva Diamond emailed asking if I knew of anyone with an eating disorder who would be willing to speak about it on camera. I didn’t, but was intrigued by her project, a documentary exploring the prevalence of eating disorders in the Orthodox community.
The resulting film, “Hungry To Be Heard: Eating Disorders in the Orthodox Jewish Community,” is having its NY premiere this Saturday night.

January Tenth at 8 pm
At the Manhattan Jewish Center 131 West 86th St.
Tickets are required and can be purchased at http://community.ou.org/hungry_to_be_heard
Funds raised will help pay for the film and for distribution to Jewish schools.
